Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your account in SafeReach, the app developed by Sai Kiran. You can do it in the app, or by email if you no longer have the app or your phone.

Option 1: in the app

Open SafeReach and go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete account. Confirm, and your account is deleted straight away.

Option 2: by email

  1. Write to support@safereach.live from any email address.
  2. Include the phone number registered to your SafeReach account.
  3. We check that the account is yours, for example by sending a code to that number for you to confirm.
  4. We delete your account within 7 days of confirming it is yours, and write back to tell you.

What we delete

Copies in our backups roll off within 30 days.

What we keep, and why

DataHow long we keep itAfter you delete your account
Other people’s SOS notifications that mention youYour name and location are removed after 7 days; the notification is deleted after 90 days (30 days once read)Kept until it expires, at most 90 days
Security logs and consent records1 year. The law requires us to keep logs.Kept for the rest of the year

We keep security logs and consent records because the law requires us to keep logs, and so we can show what you agreed to. When an SOS notification in someone else’s inbox mentions you, your name and location are removed from it after 7 days and the notification itself is deleted within 90 days. After these periods, we delete these records too.

If you joined the waitlist on our website, your waitlist details are kept separately. Ask us in the same email if you want them deleted too, or use the unsubscribe link in any of our emails.

Delete only some of your data

You do not have to delete your whole account. In the app you can remove trusted contacts, saved places and your profile photo yourself. For anything else, write to support@safereach.live and tell us what you want deleted.
